Half a dozen kids in 10 years!!

I am praising the Lord right now as I sit and count my blessings. Yes, I have not updated this blog in many years. I kinda forgot about it and just realized it was still here.
So fast forward ten years from the last post and we now are richly blessed with half a dozen children. I would have never dreamed I would receive such a gift from the Lord.
They are all tucked into bed and here I find myself marveling at how far the Lord has brought us. Nathanael is 9, Isaac is 7, Hadassah is 5, Jubilee is 3, and the twins Noble and Mercy are 1 and a 1/2. Currently we are getting ready for the school year. We love our A Beka book curriculum. It has been such a blessing, but that is a different post for a different day. Boy, it sure is easy to go down rabbit trails when you blog.
Lots of people have teased us that we have six kids and counting, and that we are like the Duggers, blown away that we have so many kids, though it doesn't feel like it honestly. We just let the Lord decide what we are gonna have. He is the one who creates the person. The Bible says in Psalms that He knits us together in our mother's womb. Incredible to think everything about us, God knitted together. Our DNA was formed by Him and He makes no mistakes. We can surely leave our cares and worries in His hands, though easier said than done. Every person is precious and even with our differences and health issues we might have or have been born with, we are still precious and that is because we bear the image of God. Each life matters and we are to trust Him and leave the rest in His hands.
My twins, Noble and Mercy have been one of the biggest surprises of my life and I have not been surprised too many times in my life. I have always wanted twins and I prayed that I would have twins. I prayed that with my first baby, my second baby and by my third baby, the thought never occurred again. I kinda just forgot about it and just enjoyed my sweet babies the Lord had blessed me with. With my fifth baby, I went in for my ultra-sound and when the technician noticed two in there, I was blown way. I started laughing, then crying. I was hot, then cold. I could not believe it. What an amazing gift from the Lord. Too bad Derek couldn't be there, but my friend Joyce was there with me and she flipped when she heard it. We were both acting pretty hyper. Isn't God good. The twins are now a year and a half and I am still in shock. "Two for the price of one", is what one of the doctors helping me deliver them said. That is exactly what I always thought. You get two blessings for one time of delivery and pregnancy.
The twins are so much fun and they have such a bond. Its fun to watch them. They are so different but they are both so sweet. They both like to cuddle with mama. The other kids are such a help to me and such a blessing. They aren't perfect, as no one is, but they sure are wonderful. I love them all so very much. Thank you Lord, I know I don't deserve them or this life you have given me. And You Lord are the most Precious gift of all.
PS. This photo is a few years old.  I can not seem to find a newer one on this computer. It is missing some of us.

Six Years of Grace

I can't believe I will have been married 6 years this May 26, 2013. Time sure flys and it flys even faster with each new baby. The Lord has blessed us so much and has worked in us and given us grace along the way, with each new turn on this wonderful journey of the life he has blessed us with. Without his grace and kindness where would we be? When we trip and fall, he is there to give us grace. When we are prideful and self-reliant, he gives us his grace and don't we need it real bad. I am so thankful to our kind father for leading us with a gentle hand and giving us gifts from his own heart and hand. May we also show that grace to others. When our friend offends us with a comment, or when someone truly hurts us or talks about us. May we be like our Lord Jesus and show them grace. May we show our kids grace, when they disobey. May we shower others with the gospel by showing them grace when they mess up, cause we all do it! Thank you so much Father, for your grace.

Our Handsome Farrier.

Many people have asked "What is a farrier?" Here are some pictures of our farrier. Farriers trim horses hoofs and put shoes on them. It can be a tedious job. You definitely get a good work out while shoeing horses. It is very rewarding though.

Sorry these are all so blurry. Its hard to take good pictures while the person is moving. These are pictures of Derek trimming a horse hoof. As you can see, it requires lots of leg power to be able to sqaut for a while while holding the horses hoof with your legs. Derek does a fantastic job.

Happy Birthday Beloved!

What a wonderful man I have. He is caring, kind, helpful and he is also a wonderful father to my sons. I am so thankful for this man of God that I have been blessed with. Right now as I am writing, he is in his room reading his Bible, which is a nightly and morning habit.

Every night he tucks Nathanael into bed, reads him a story, prays with him and then tickles his back for a few minutes. Nathanael is very content with his bedtime routine. I pray that the Lord would bless my Beloved on his birthday and grant him the desires of his heart, would grant him favor among men and give him success in his business. I do love him. Happy Birthday Dear Brother and Husband.

Nathanael's Summer Summed Up

Daddy and Nathanael snoozing together on our family vacation.

Nathanael and his friend Chris looking at a book together. Chris lives down the hall and we get to see him quite a bit. He is about 10 months younger than Nathanael

Nathanael at Chucky Cheese. Next time we go, he will have a little brother to take with him, Lord willing.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Nathanael.

Another picture at the farm. Nathanael loves to run around at the farm.

Nat getting ready for Church.

Nathanael got to go swimming quite a bit this summer. He loved the water and wasn't afraid one bit. He started kicking on his back with mama holding him of course.

Nathanael at the farm. He got to pick his first carrot and his first head of lettuce. It was so funny because once he got the carrot out of the ground he tried to put it back into the ground.

Every fourth of July the Fire Department has a breakfast and they let the kids explore the fire trucks and sit in the drivers seat. Nathanael had a good time.

Nathanael putting his books away. He loves to point out the cars and balloons and other things he recognizes on each page. He has taken to the fire trucks and cars. He likes to make car noises.

Auntie Felicia came to visit Nathanael this summer.

The Ligonier Partners Dinner

The Lord has been so good to America to give her such godly preachers that have kept the gospel pure and undefiled. What a blessing to still find strong doctrine and true love for God and his truth. Derek and I were blessed to meet Dr. R.C. Sproul and to hear him preach.

We also got to meet other believers that lived in our area who also appreciated good doctrine and strong preaching. R.C. Sproul has been a wonderful encouragement to Derek and I. When Derek and I first met we talked about the different preachers we both liked and even then we both had a love for R.C. Sproul as well as John MacArthur and John Piper. R.C. is one of those preachers you can listen to and not realize two hours have gone by. His movies: the Holiness of God as well as Chosen by God are some of our favorites.

At the end of the night as all of us were walking out, I got to meet R.C.'s wife. She was one of the sweetest woman I have ever met. You could tell she truly cared and that she loved R.C. God has truly been good to us. He has watched over us and loved us with his steadfast love. We praise him for allowing us to go to this small dinner.

Nathanael's Best Buddy, Aunty Jenna!

My best friend and sister has been such a blessing to our family. She has cared for and watched Nathanael like he was her own. I have been able to do many things because of this amazing girl who watches my son "just exactly the way I want." You know how all mothers like things done a certain way and each mother has her own ways. Well Jenna has really picked up on almost all the little ways I like things done. She will be a wonderful mother one day and will make some man a happy husband. I pray that the Lord will continue to work in her life. She truly is the best sister and best friend I have.

We are back!

It has been awhile since we have blogged, but we are back and we have some wonderful news. There is going to be another baby Cole. Praise the Lord he has heard our hearts desire. The Lord is so merciful and so so kind. First he redeemed us and now he has blessed us with another soul to raise for him. Nathanael has been a huge blessing to us. He is starting to walk and he can say thank you in sign language. He is a very wild boy for which we rejoice but can be tired out many a day. We will let you know if this next little blessing is a boy or a girl. Either is fine with us. Please pray for a healthy delivery. We are trying to have an all natural birth this time around. May it be.

Nathanael Levi Cole

Nathanael at 3 weeks.

We never knew we could be so IN LOVE

We were extremely blessed to have a healthy little boy on April 18. It is so amazing to be parents and we are so enjoying our little Nathanael. God is so kind to us, how can we not love him. It is fun just to stare at him and look at every little feature. He is the cutest little boy and we love his personality. He has been a good boy though we know he is a sinner. He certainly loves his Daddy. He gets lots of Daddy time and they look so much alike. Well, we pulled out Derek's baby picture and were so surprised at how much Nathanael looks like his daddy in the eyes. Here are some pictures to bless your day. He has changed so much since the first day he was born. He is now 3 weeks and 2 days old. May our Lord God bless our little boy and save his soul at a young age. May God be glorified.
